PACS/RIS

PACS (picture archiving and communication system) is an evolving healthcare technology for the storage, retrieval, management, distribution and presentation of medical images. PACS makes it possible to replace hard-copy means of managing medical images. With the ability to store images with this technology, there is no longer a need to have cabinets and files filled with film archives.

RIS (radiology information system) is a database that stores and distributes patient information. The main features of RIS include, patient scheduling and registration, patient tracking and radiology workflow management.
